It is believed that the cultivation of Kim began in Korea during the mid-Joseon Dynasty. There are many stories about Gim cultivation, but the most famous one is the story that Kim Yeo-ik first succeeded in cultivating Gim in Taein-dong, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do in 1940.
It is said that when Kim Yeo-ik personally presented Gim to King Injo, King Injo was amazed and asked for its name. When a subject said, "This is food made by Kim So-and-so," King Injo said, "From now on, call me Gim after that person's last name." This is the origin of Gim.
Gim, which is loved by all Koreans and has become a representative traditional food of Korea, has become a health food that has attracted worldwide attention as its efficacy and taste have become known, and is exported to many countries.
Five sheets of seaweed contain as much protein as one egg and 30 times more dietary fiber than a tangerine.
In particular, porphyran, a type of dietary fiber, is known to help with detoxification, inflammation reduction, and immunity boosting.

Gim contains a large amount of ingredients that help excrete cholesterol, which helps prevent arteriosclerosis and high blood pressure, and helps prevent cancer.
The various nutrients contained in seaweed protect cells through anti-oxidant action, strengthen immunity, and support the immune system, which greatly helps improve resistance to infection and disease
