Gim Story

It is believed that the cultivation of Kim began in Korea during the mid-Joseon Dynasty. There are many stories about Gim cultivation, but the most famous one is the story that Kim Yeo-ik first succeeded in cultivating Gim in Taein-dong, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do in 1940.

It is said that when Kim Yeo-ik personally presented Gim to King Injo, King Injo was amazed and asked for its name. When a subject said, "This is food made by Kim So-and-so," King Injo said, "From now on, call me Gim after that person's last name." This is the origin of Gim.

Gim, which is loved by all Koreans and has become a representative traditional food of Korea, has become a health food that has attracted worldwide attention as its efficacy and taste have become known, and is exported to many countries.
